Sant LluÍs
Situated in the south eastern corner of the island, the municipality of Sant Lluís encompasses the small town of Sant Lluís itself, the surrounding villages of Pou Nou, Es Consell, S’Uestra, Torret and Binifadet and the coastal developments from S’Algar to Binisafúller.
One has to pass through Sant Lluís town in order to travel between the resorts in the south east and the rest of the island, which has resulted in Sant Lluís town becoming a bustling hub for the south east, with banks, estate agencies, large supermarkets, a petrol station and many other services available.
Sant Lluís town was founded in the mid-18th century during the brief period of French rule and features a distinct, very uniform architectural style. This is particularly evident in the main street, which remains the centre of activity, with the town hall, church, market square and various bars and restaurants all located there.
