This popular resort and marina can
be found on the south west tip of Menorca and can be easily reached by
both car and bus. It has a pleasant sandy beach that deepens gradually and
which offers safe bathing in the clear blue waters whenever the green flag
is flying. Sun beds, umbrellas and pedaloes are also available to hire.
The resort itself is centred
around the small marina, where boats can be hired and trips out to sea are
available in glass bottomed boats. There is an extensive selection of bars
and restaurants, one even serves you on roller-skates and many offer
locally caught fish dishes. It really however comes alive in the evening,
when you can combine a leisurely meal with music and dancing.
Other entertainment on offer
includes a small park offering a selection of the latest in bouncy castles
and other such inflatable attractions, mini golf, and of course a land
train.
For those who like to get away
from it all, it is possible to walk along the coast to the beautiful and
vast sandy beach of Son Saura, Although not a short walk, and one for
which a guide book and map are recommended, it is a beautiful walk
and the reward of delightful and remote sandy beach is certainly
worth it.
