There is a large colony of artists on the island, some Menorquín, some from other parts of Spain and many from Britain and other parts of Europe.  As most of the work is of island scenes or of island flora and fauna, one must assume that the artists are largely inspired by the quality of the light and the tranquil beauty of much of the rural parts of island, plus the charm of the "white villages".

The work of island artists is displayed in the many art galleries in the main towns and also in some restaurants. 

Prices are very competitive when compared with similar quality work elsewhere in Europe and the discerning visitor can pick up really satisfying reminders of the trip which also enhance the home.
