Arenal de'n Castell  is one of the islands main resort areas. It is situated 8km north of Es Mercadal and is  located around a beautiful semi-circlular shaped beach. The beach and its setting are magnificent making it easy to understand why the resort remains so popular. It is an almost circular cove half a kilometer in diameter with gently sloping sands, however these do shelve steeply once in the water. For children the eastern end of the beach is shallower and thus safer to bathe in for little ones. There are some water sports and sun beds are available to hire.

The beach is surrounded by steep cliffs on the east side and gentler slopes on the west, and there are no less than 5 beach bars! A popular self contained resort Arenal has a large selection of  hotels, villas  and apartments.  It also boasts a good selection of bars and restaurants which, ensures that the visitor never goes hungry or thirsty!
