Addaia is a
small development of villas and apartments on the edge of a narrow deep
and beautiful inlet. A natural basin makes it ideal for yachts and there
is a small port from where diving and fishing expeditions are available.
The headland offers spectacular views out to sea and across to Macaret and
there is also a small commercial centre, with shops bars and restaurants.
It is one of the few resorts that
has a large permanent population, probably because it has a beautiful and
safe harbour for boats and has no beach, the nearest being Macaret which
is quite small, while the closest big beach is Arenal.
This slight sense of exclusivity
does not change the fact that there are plenty of restaurants and shops
while the apartment blocks and most of the villas have swimming pools,
popular with those who are not beach lovers.
